Soon I'll be writing a paper
on Irish Warfare in the 1600s. Exciting I know!

Work is great. I love it, I love the people I couldn't be happier in a job. My favorite part is tracking down people from
the Midwest and chatting with them or with Veterans. I met the sweetest man who survived the Pearl Harbor attacks
on the USS Oklahoma. The way he described that day was simply amazing.

Hawaii is still treating me well. I'm getting used to it being home, I think Dave is too. I know my way around I'm making friends I just wish it was a little closer to some of my other friends. Julie is coming to visit in 3 weeks! I'm so exicted! I'm still keeping an eye out an cheap tickets so if anyone wants to come let me know and I"ll keep you posted on prices. They look pretty cheap for the spring around Feb/March.

I learned something fun in class the other day and Paal I know you'll find this humorous.
There was a king of Hawaii back in the 1800s before Hawaii was annexed that went to Europe for diplomatic purposes.
Anyways, he went through France on his way to Italy but just snuck through the country, never declaring his presence. Well the French got a hold of that and when he came back to France he was expecting the usual diplomatic welcome with a ceremony and such. The French refused because he didn't announce his presence earlier. This made the king furious, so he plotted to overthrow the French government. Luckily one of his aides stopped him. But could you imagine if he was successful how different France would be?

Well nothing more of importance to say, I put new pics up on facebook a while ago. Maybe I'll get some more up soon.

Atleast 85

That's what the weather usually is. I like how even though it's humid it's nothing compared to back home! You would think i would be bored with it, ask me in january when it's winter and see if i actually miss the snow.

I started working at the USS Missouri at Pearl Harbor. I love it, it's like my dream job, I work on a historical site that still floats in the water and I get to tell random historical facts about that place and they PAY ME! I'm in love, who needs a "real job" when I can work there...ok well someday when I finish graduate school I'll get a real job which may trump this job but until then I'm happy!

I bought a car, so now i have a car in 2 states until the rents sell alphie, my beloved focus. now my dad wants to ship it to me...where was that a few months ago? Anyways the new un-named car is a white 96 sentra. as much as i hate white cars they are all over here so atleast it doesn't stand out. I almost lost it the first day i had it amongst the other white cars at the walmart parking lot (no target it's my only option...pathetic i know!)

Dave moves down tomorrow, crazy that i've been down here that long, some times it feels like just yesterday i left.

That's about it, I thought i had more substance to write but i think my brain is focusing on my tourguide speech and i'm sure no one wants to hear that!

Moroccan Nights

You may be thinking did she go visit Karen? I wish. Nope that's the color I dyed my hair
it was a roommate project last nite, my hair is now dark brown instead of the bleached brown
it once was.

Class is over on Thursday then I get a vacation. Well I am really busy at PAM (pacific aviation museum)
so that will basically take up my "summer break." Still no paying job but i'm working on it.

I plan on getting a car by the end of August. So all who visit, you won't have to ride the bus around.
If that was the key factor in you not visiting well let that hold you back no more! A free place and transit in Hawaii
what more could one want? Oh wait, cheap airfare!

The roaches come and go, i wish they would all just die and get it over with. Tropical Storm Daniel's going to hit
the Big Island Friday which means lots of rain here.

Well gotta run, time to go to Pearl Harbor again!

the 4th Hawaiian style

Well you should all be happy to know that the fireworks in Oahu were a big disappointment. It doesn't even hold a candle to the Big Bang before Summerfest (ah Summerfest, the memories) or even the small town stuff, as I recall the one year we all went to the Sussex fireworks those were even better! But the tourists in Waikiki seemed to enjoy them so props to them!

Had a job interview today, went well, second interview near the end of the month. As for the Pac. Air Muse. as I like to call it, I can't wait, the lady who is in charge of the educational aspect is from Germantown! Small world, and she told me I don't have that strong WI accent which made me happy.

New roommate has been back since Sunday. Roddie is cool, we spent the afternoon digging through the "storage" area in our living room and found a secret door, have yet to open said door but we will. So much random stuff in there such as a karaoke cd of the best of the 70s/80s.

That's all, tomorrow I'm going for drinks w/ Kelly after my midterm! Yay for visitors from home!

Roach Count 3

Yup 3 in the apt since I got here. So finally my random knowledge may be put to good use! I'm told I'll be working with the educational aspect of the museum which should be cool. I find out more on Wednesday as well for that. But it sounds interesting and they're doing some sort of big opening thing on December 7th.

www.pacificaviationmuseum.org

So that's about it. Now this can be a good thing or it can be a bad thing. For some reason in my head I had it that it was the worst thing ever.

I went to class, was a bit early along with a few others.
